My Vision
To improve student learning through the
seamless integration of technology in
all facets of the educational system.
I envision using technology to further a learning community where:
- Students are engaged in a challenging curriculum that is focused on inquiry, project-based, hands-on learning. Students are comfortable using technology. Students take responsibility for their own educational success.
- Teachers use technology to support all learning across the curriculum. They function as coaches, mentors, advocates, and managers of information. The curriculum addresses students' specific needs, developmental levels and learning styles.
- The schools have knowledgeable staff and external resources (such as parents, community members, business, higher education, and network resources) to further the curriculum goals and units of study.
I suppose you'll catch a hint of my passion with knowledgeable staff using technology in a meaningful way is a learned skill. Learning from the leaders in the field saves many frustrating hours of the teachers valuable time. Learning to use best practices when putting units of study together bring significant success to the learner. No need to reinvent the wheel, learn from the success ... and failures ... of others.
